Thai Medicine

I was introduced by a few friends to get this as told it was good for rooster's health. For fighting cocks, once every evening. For my Seramas I was suggested by a friend in Malaysia to feed 2-3x a week. So I thought I share this information.

Mat Awang Hen laid first egg

I was thrilled but disappointed with the result. The egg shell is soft. Well it is a good start that she is laying, let's hope the next one has a solid shell.

Kemuning chick

This chick is 9 day old, only egg hatched from 8 tiny quail sized eggs. And she is super small for 9 day old.

Sick chick waiting for the Veterinary

I am surprised and mostly glad that this chick's strong will power to live. I thought she couldn't make it last night. Today is Indonesia public holiday and there aren't any vets available to see her until now. I hope she will recover.

Samigila x Gladiator

Experimenting crossing Samigila with Gladiator bloodline. Today is the 7th day of incubation and all 3 eggs are forming. I could see blood vessels in the eggs. Looking forward to seeing the results in 14 more days.

Final post on Samigila Chick

She persevered till tonight and she finally gave up and died. Sigh... I am not sure how she got it and I am still observing. I have to find the cause. I can't save her but I still has the rest of the flock to care for. 17 Nov 2012

Newcastle Disease prevention

After my Samigila chick is diagnosed with Newcastle Disease. I have been monitoring the rest of my chickens for any visible infections. I have read the first sign is greenish diarrhea, so far non.

I have also injected the rest with an antibody against ND.

Newcastle Disease

My chick is diagnosed by my veterinary of having Newcastle disease! This is the ultimate nightmare of chicken owners. She was said to be as good as dead and I have quarantined her in my office. That's the only place I could think of other than my house. :(

Samigila Chick not looking good

She is getting worse today. Her food sag is bloated with water and I can see blotches of black spots beneath the skin.

My very first Serama chick

This is the first time my Serama hatched an egg. Though it is one successful egg out of eight. I am still thrilled.

This chick was bitten by mosquito and she hasn't been so well since. She hasn't been eating well and I have to force feed her. I am pretty worried about her and today her condition got worse. Her walk was wobbly and hardly has energy to get up. Been feeding Tetra-chlor for past 3 days.

Bunsen's Serama

Serama Bloodlines Characteristics

1. Lang Sidi : Tiny comb, small body, looks like banana flower, ear has tiny white dots, good accessories. The feather stem of the tail is white or cream. Tip toe while flipping the wings. Fast reaction. Lawi (2 long tails) are pointed.

2. Limbat : big comb with big body big hips. Feathers messy n tail.
Long tail (2 long tails) faces the sky. The wings opens wider. Likes to walk on the table. Red color. Likes to flip his tail.

3. Husin : petite and tall. Good accessories. Horse cutting. Nice hips. Feathers are dense. Steam of the feather on the tail is yellow. Slower motion. Response slow.

4. Robot : big body, fat face, big hips, dense feather, down feathers are white n dense. Taji (the extra toe during adult) is black. Likes to walk and tip toe, like a robot. Fast pace.

5. Mat Awang : big breast, small body, Selam, small. Thin feathering. When chicks, there are feathers on the feet. Will lose it when they reach 2-3 mths. The feathers on the feet are grey.

6. Mie Lukisan : good accessories, fine and silky feathers. Many colors. 9 colors on the wings, respond so-so.

7. Champion : big comb, big body, Selam, good attitude on table. Red, white, yellow.

8. Raja Gegar : big comb, eye rings are black, accessories not so good, body trembles, superb response.

9. Tok Uban : quick response, big comb, white furs on comb and face, tail feathers not nice. Horse cutting

Samigila from Rosli in Johore Bharu

Gotten this fabulous Rooster from Rosli on 8th November 2012, I am really grateful. Original owner is Pok Dean at Dungun.

I was also given a female pullet which is the granddaughter of this rooster. She is a little unwell when the picture was taken. It is probably due to the journey she took from Malaysia to Batam. Getting better as each day passes. :)
